I'm Mary. Or, Mary Robin, since I am living in the South now, and everyone uses their middle names. Born and raised in North Dakota - the only home I knew - I moved to South Carolina in my 40s. Something happens when you finally jump. You go back to the basics and start from scratch. Untethered and floating, belonging nowhere. Hanging in the space is where the magic begins. New roots sprout, and the real growth - the kind that matters - begins.

My roles: Mom. Wife. Friend. Daughter. Neighbor. Professional. They co-exist. No taking one hat off and putting another. They live together. Just like a big ol' layer cake, or cords on a guitar. Beautifully imperfect. Sometimes good. Sometimes not. But always me.
